Amie Siegel (b. 1974, Chicago, IL) is a photographer, filmmaker, and installation and video artist. She received a BA from Bard College in 1996 and an MFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1999. Her work has been shown widely both nationally and internationally, with exhibitions including City of Disappearances, CCA Wattis, San Francisco; 5th Auckland Triennial, New Zealand; Amie Siegel, Part 1: Black Moon, Kunstmuseum Stuttgart; The Talent Show, MoMA/PS1, New York; Walker Art Center, Minneapolis; and 2008 Whitney Biennial, Whitney Museum of American Art, New York. Siegel’s feature length films have been shown at Cannes Film Festival, Berlin International Film Festival, New York Film Festival, and Museum of Modern Art, New York. She is a recipient of the ICA Boston’s 2010 Foster Prize, a 2012 Sundance Institute Film Fund award, and has been a fellow of the DAAD Berliner-Künstlerprogramm, Guggenheim Foundation.
