Dan Gunn is an artist, writer, and educator living and working in Chicago. He received an MFA in Painting from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2007. He attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in the summer of 2012. Recent exhibitions include Impromptu Airs a solo exhibition at Monique Meloche Gallery, the New American Paintings Midwest Survey at the Elmhurst Art Museum. He has also shown at Marine Contemporary in Santa Monica, Art Los Angeles Contemporary, the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago for the 12 x 12 New Artists: New Work series, Lloyd Dobler Gallery, Columbia College A+D Gallery and the Loyola University Museum of Art. His work has been reviewed in Frieze, Art in America, Artforum.com, Artslant.com, Newcity Magazine, New American Paintings, Time Out Chicago and the Chicago Tribune.
