Aaron Parazette was born in Ventura CA (1960), and grew up in Hermosa Beach, CA. He spent his youth on the beach and in the waters of the Pacific.

He did his undergraduate work at the University of South Florida, Tampa (BFA 1987) and his graduate work at the Claremont Graduate University in California (MFA, Painting, 1990), and in 1990 moved to Houston to be part of the Core Residency Program at the Glassell School of Art (1990-1992).

Parazette has had 22 solo exhibitions and has been included in over 100 group exhibitions nationally and internationally. Selected solo exhibitions include North Swell at the Dallas Contemporary (2011), Snow White Tan, Talley Dunn Gallery, Dallas (2010), New Paintings, McClain Gallery, Houston (2008, 2011); New Paintings, Marlborough Gallery NY (2006, 2007); Wind Swell, Gregory Lind Gallery, San Francisco (2006, 2009); Drive Thru, The Suburban, Chicago (2005); Aaron Parazette: Perspectives 141, The Contemporary Arts Museum in Houston (2004). He has also been included in over 100 national and international group exhibitions.

Parazette is a Professor in the School of Art at the University of Houston where he has been on the faculty since 1997.

He lives and works in Houston with his partner Sharon Engelstein and their daughter Joy.
