Richard T. Walker’s videos, photographic works, sculptural installations, and performances take solitude, human nature and dialogue as their subjects. Focusing on the experience of our surrounding environments, his works highlight clashes between innate desire, cultural interpretation and reality, becoming almost behavioral studies of the act of experiencing.

Richard was included in Autonomous Regions curated by Hou Hanru at the Times Museum, Guangzhou and has shown in multiple group exhibitions at venues, including SFMOMA, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Museum of Modern Art, Rio De Janeiro, Kulturhuset Stockholm, Witte De With Rotterdam and K21 in Dusseldorf.

He received an MA in Fine Art from Goldsmiths College, London (2005) and is currently based in San Francisco. He has been a recipient of the fellowship at Kala Art Institute in Berkeley California. He was an Irvine Fellow at the Montalvo Art Center and has been a resident at The Headlands Center for the Arts and Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture.
