Leslie Shows received her BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute in 1999 and her MFA from the California College of the Arts in 2006. She has participated in residencies at the International Studio and Curatorial Program (2012), Bemis Center for the Arts (2011), Millay Colony for the Arts (2010), and the Printmaking Fellowship, Kala Art Institute (2007). Her work is in the public collections of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Berkeley Art Museum, and the Kadist Art Foundation, and she was commissioned by the San Francisco Art Commission for the Central Subway/Moscone Center Station. Her work has been exhibited recently at the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, Scottsdale, AZ (2014) and at Bemis Center for Contemporary Art, Omaha, NB (2015). Awards include a Eureka Fellowship, Fleishhacker Foundation (2008), SECA Art Award, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and the Tournesol Award, Headlands Center for the Arts (2006).
