The Artadia SEEN Award will annually dedicate one unrestricted award of $15,000 to a woman-identifying artist and provide ancillary programming. The recipient will be selected from the pool of the current year’s Awardees and will ensure that women-identifying artists continue to be recognized as part of Artadia’s mission of supporting culturally underrepresented voices.

Originated by visionary leaders and long-time friends Stacey Empson and Mary Kemper Wolf, the SEEN Award aims to shift the long-standing art world dynamics that favor male artists and will recognize a woman-identifying artist at a pivotal stage in her career. Wolf and Empson are the initial seeders of the fund and will invite other women to join the cause. The Award is funded by women, for women, reflecting the field’s matriarchal lineage and serving as a key principle that underpins this initiative.
