Ruth Dusseault is a journalist, photographer and filmmaker who focuses on the systems that undergird modern life. Her work centers on climate change, geography and ethnography. She has curated exhibitions for the District of Columbia Art Center, the Contemporary in Atlanta, and the Avery Center at the Carnegie Museum of Art. As assistant professor and artist in residence at Georgia Institute of Technology, she documented the transformation of the largest brownfield development in the U.S. She has received over a dozen awards and recognitions from institutions including UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism, Society for Environmental Journalists and the National Endowment for the Arts. Her work has been shown at London’s Chelsea College of Art, Boston Center for the Arts, High Museum of Art, New Orleans Museum of Art, Houston Center for Photography, Bemis Center for the Arts and Emory University. She works as a climate reporter for Bay City News in San Francisco.
