PhillipsX and Artadia are proud to announce an upcoming Los Angeles selling exhibition of works by California-based Artadia Awardees, Terri Friedman, Esteban Ramón Pérez, Adee Roberson, and Miller Robinson. The exhibition will be open to the public from 13 February through 9 March at the recently launched Phillips Los Angeles. The Artadia Awards program is designed to both provide artists with essential funding and recognition along with bolstering their communities and advocating for pathways to career-building opportunities. The four Artadia Awardees featured in this exhibition have demonstrated pivotal moments in their practice, and the works included in the show represent how the artists’ respective histories, identities, and relationships to materials uniquely manifest in their art.

Carolyn Ramo, Executive Director, Artadia, said, “We are thrilled to be continuing our ongoing partnership with Phillips for this beautiful exhibition of work by four Artadia Awardees. Artadia is proud to identify and support some of today’s most exciting talent through our renowned Artadia Awards program, and this platform in collaboration with PhillipsX allows for these artists to reach new audiences—an innovative extension of our vital mission to support artists.”

Rebekah Bowling, Senior Specialist, Head of 21st Century Art, said, “Phillips is delighted to continue in our work with Artadia, an organization whose important mission has helped so many artists. It is a privilege to share the work and vision of the artists in this exhibition with Phillips’ community of collectors here at our new outpost in Los Angeles.”

Artadia is a non-profit grantmaker and nationwide community of visual artists, curators, and patrons. We elevate the careers of artists at pivotal moments in their practice through a proven combination of recognition, grantmaking, community support, and advocacy. Artadia was founded in 1999 by Christopher E. Vroom and a group of arts leaders, motivated by the erosion of national funding for the arts and united by the belief that visual artists play a foundational role in shaping society and the arts economy, as storytellers and civic leaders.

Since its founding, Artadia has awarded over $6 million in unrestricted funds to over 380 artists nationally. Celebrating visual artists and their foundational role in shaping society, the Artadia Award benefits three artists annually in seven major US cities with high concentrations of creative workers—Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, New York City, and the San Francisco Bay Area.
